Four Seasons

I enjoy all four seasons, but have to confess that Fall is my favorite. May I share a little insight from my own personal history... Coach Hart

The sights, smells, and sounds of harvest time bring back wonderful memories of growing up in a small farming community (where I now teach). Coming home after school I would quickly change, then run down to the farm. I remember the old Ford tractor pulling a bright red corn chopper, shooting silage into the back of a big wagon. The silage was then hauled and piled high into a big pit for winter feed. To this day, I still love the smell of both corn silage and diesel tractor exhaust.

Cool, crisp morning air makes me want to run, another fond memory associated with this season of the year. It was during the Fall months, growing up, that I participated in the sport of x-country. There is nothing like the natural high that one gets from running, especially when enjoying the sights and smells of a beautiful autumn day.

Finally, this time of year marks the start of school. I love the excitement this brings. In contrast to the end of nature's growing season, the opening of school signals a new beginning for me, a new class, new books, new school supplies and a fresh start to another year of learning.

I love Fall! It's my favorite time of the year.

How about you? Do you have a favorite season? Tell us about it!
