Tomorrow's virtual reality may be very different than the clunky computer age you are now familiar with. Imagine a life where people are able to go everywhere and experience anything from the safety and comfort of home: kids attending school without having to get on a bus, interacting with classmates in a cyberspace classroom that doesn't really exist (physically that is), enjoying a Disneyland experience without the 8 hour car ride.
In this world, travel would not be necessary. All of your physical senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell) would be transported, without your body, to any place in the world . Just think about those school field trips! Seem impossible? Maybe.... Maybe Not! Scientists and engineers are now experimenting with technology that could change the way we live and interact with each other. The world described above may become the normal way of doing things. What do you think about this? Write about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a "virtual reality" world. How would it change the way we live and do things? |
